Spaghetti With Tomato Sauce And Fresh Basil Leaves

Ingredients
1 Unsalted butter 2 tablespoons
2 Onion, finely diced 1
3 Plum tomatoes, peeled, seeded and chopped 2 pounds
4 Fresh basil leaves 10
5 Extra-virgin olive oil 1/4 cup
6 Sea salt to taste
7 Freshly ground black pepper to taste
8 Spaghetti 1 pound
Method
Boil a good quantity of water in a large pot, add salt and spaghetti and cook according to the package directions.
In a mean while, heat oil and butter together in a pan, add the onions and cook over low heat until the onions are soft and translucent, for about 10 minutes. Add the tomatoes, basil leaves, salt and pepper and simmer for 20 minutes. Drain the spaghetti and toss with the tomato sauce, garnish it with basil leaves and serve.
