Ingredients
1 Hara chana 3 cups
2 Ginger, peeled & finely chopped 1 teaspoon
3 Green chilies, finely chopped 5
4 Cumin seeds 1/2 teaspoon
5 Coriander powder 1 teaspoon
6 Red chili powder 1/2 teaspoon
7 Salt to taste
8 Garam masala 1/2 teaspoon
9 Asafetida[heeng] a pinch
10 Lemon juice to taste
11 Fresh coriander leaves, finely chopped 2 tablespoons
12 Oil 3 tablespoons
Method
Heat oil in a pan or kadahi, add cumin seeds and let it splutter, now add ginger, green chilies and asafetida and fry for 30 seconds, add hara chana, and all the powdered spices and 1/2 cup of water, stir , cover and cook over low heat until done and all the water is evaporated, Garnish it lemon juice and chopped coriander and serve.

Introduction of the dish
Hara chana or green chana is like peas and is slightly sweeter in taste than the black chana.
