Ingredients
1 Green capsicum, chopped 2
2 Lady's fingers, chopped 6
3 Brinjal, chopped 2
4 Potatoes, peeled and chopped 2
5 French beans, cut into small pieces 10
6 Carrots, peeled and chopped 2
7 Onions, finely chopped 2
8 Tomatoes, finely chopped 4
9 Spinach, washed and chopped 500 grams
10 Khatta greens, washed and chopped 500 grams
11 Onions, finely chopped 2
12 Garlic, finely chopped 5 cloves
13 Green chilies, finely chopped 4
14 Green gram dal 1 cup
15 Chana dal 1/2 cup
16 Turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon
17 Coriander powder 1 +1/2 teaspoons
18 Red chili powder 1 teaspoon
19 Cumin seeds 1/2 teaspoon
20 Salt to taste
21 Oil 3 tablespoons
22 Ghee or clarified butter 1 tablespoon
23 Fresh coriander leaves, finely chopped 1/2 cup
Method
Wash both dals well, drain. Heat oil in a pressure cooker over high heat, add dals, all vegetables and masalas and enough water to cover all the contents, cover and pressure cook for 3 whistles. Let it open by itself, then hand blend all the contents.
Heat ghee in a pan, add cumin seeds and asafetida and let it splutter, pour this in the cooker over the cooked vegetables and dal mixture, stir aand serve.
