Ingredients
1 Semiya, cut into small pieces 1/2 cup
2 Warm milk 4 cups
3 Sugar 1/2 cup
4 Green cardamom, powdered 4
5 Cashews, chopped 1/3 cup
6 Raisins 1/3 cup
7 Ghee or clarified butter 1/3 cup
Method
Heat 1/4 cup of ghee in a pan over medium-high heat, add semiya and cook until golden-brown by constantly stirring it. Now add milk and sugar to it, stir, turn the flame to low and cook until semiya becomes tender and payasam becomes slightly thick. Serve.

Semiya, also known as vermicelli is used both for sweet and savory preparations in India.It is sweet kheer like concoction of semiya.
