Ingredients
1 Basmati rice 2 cups
2 Peas 1 cup
3 Onions, chopped 2
4 Ginger-garlic paste 1 teaspoon
5 Cinnamon 1 stick
6 Cumin seeds 1/2 teaspoon
7 Bay leaf 1
8 Black cardamom, crushed 2
9 Cloves 2
10 Black peppercorns 4
11 Salt to taste
12 Oil or ghee 2 tablespoons
Method
Heat oil or ghee in a pan over medium-high heat, add cumin seeds , cinnamon, cardamom, bay leaf, cloves and peppercorns and let them splutter. Now add onions and cook until translucent, add ginger-garlic paste and cook until lightly brown. Now add rice, salt, peas and 4 cups of water, bring to a boil, cover and cook over low heat until all the water is absorbed. Let it rest for 10 minutes and serve.
