Kolum rice, washed |

| Method |
|
Add 5 cups of water in a pressure cooker, and boil it. When it begins to boil,
add rice and turmeric, stir, cover the pressure cooker and cook for 1 whistle
and 3 minutes on low. Let it open. Fluff the rice with the help of fork.
Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat, add mustard seeds, urad dal and
gram dal and let it splutter. Fry until dal becomes golden. Add curry leaves
and green chilies and cook for 1 minute. Pour this tadka over rice, stir.
In a bowl, mix lemon juice and salt, now add this to rice, stir well and serve.

Kolum rice, use basmati rice in place.
