Tuar dal [arhar dal] |

Garlic, finely chopped |

Clarified butter[ghee] or oil |

| Method |

Wash dal well, transfer into the pressure cooker, add 4 cups of water, salt
and turmeric powder and pressure cook for 2 whistles. Let it open.
Heat oil or butter in a pan over medium heat, add cumin, whole red chilies,
bay leaf and garlic and let it splutter, now add red chili powder, stir. Now
pour this tadka into the cooked dal, stir. Garnish with coriander leaves and
serve.

Tadka dal is a specialty of Northern India, a simple everyday dal dish, served with steamed white rice or rotis (indian flat breads).
This Dal is one of the quickest I ever make! I hope You will love it.
