Moong dal |

Spinach (palak), finely chopped |

Garlic, peeled & finely chopped |
8-10 cloves |

Ginger, peeled & finely chopped |

Cumin seeds |

Coriander powder |
1 teaspoon |

Red chili powder |

Salt |
to taste |

Turmeric powder |
1/4 teaspoon |

Ghee or butter |
2 tablespoons |

Lemon juice |
1 tablespoon |
| Method |
Wash dal well, transfer it to the pressure cooker with spinach, 4 cups of water, salt, turmeric powder and coriander powder and cook for 2 whistles. Turn off the heat and let it open.
Heat ghee or butter in a pan, add cumin seeds and let it splutter, now add ginger, garlic and green chilies and fry until light brown, now add red chili powder and garam masala, stir and pour over the cooked dal, stir and serve.

Spinach is full of iron , vitamins and dietary fibers. You can also use urad dal in place of moong dal.
