| Method |

Wash dal well, transfer it to the pressure cooker with 4 cups of water, salt and turmeric powder and cook for 2-3 whistles. Turn off the heat and let it open.
Heat oil or ghee in a pan, add cumin, mustard, fenugreek and coriander seeds and let it splutter, now add ginger-garlic and fry until light brown. Add onions and green chilies and cook for 2-3 minutes, now add tomatoes, red chili powder and cook until tomatoes becomes tender. Pour this tadka over dal, add chopped coriander and lemon juice, stir and serve.
