Place 1/4 of taro pieces on a heat proof plate in a steamer. Fill a wok or pan
with boiling water to the depth that will not immerse the base of the
steamer. Place the steamer in a wok and let it steam for 15 minutes.
In the mean while, pureed the remaining taro pieces in a food processor .
Drain the sago and put it in a pan with 4 cups of hot water and simmer for
10 minutes. Turn off the heat and let it set for 10 minutes, until the sago
becomes transparent. Rinse it in boiled water and drained well.
Heat the sugar with 2 cups of water and simmer until the sugar is
completely dissolved. Now add pureed taro, stir and bring to a boil. Now
add sago to the pan and stir well. Add coconut milk, whole milk and
steamed taro pieces, bring to a boil and serve.
