Ingredients
1 Garbanzo beans [or chickpeas], drained 1 can
2 Garlic, minced 2 cloves
3 Tahini 1/3 cup
4 Lemon juice 1/3 cup
5 Roasted red peppers 1/ 2 cup
6 Salt to taste
7 Freshly ground black pepper 1/4 teaspoon
8 Dried basil 1/4 teaspoon
Method
Put garlic, garbanzo beans, tahini and lemon juice in a food processor and blend to a smooth paste. Add roasted peppers and basil and process until the peppers are finely chopped. Season it with salt and pepper. Transfer hummus to a bowl, cover and chill until you are ready to serve.

Introduction of the dish
This is a very basic recipe for the popular garbanzo beans hummus. It can be made a day ahead. Keep it refrigerated and bring to room temperature before serving. Tahini is a paste made from sesame seeds and can be found in many grocery stores.
